Anthropocene, Johan Rockstrom

I want to write about this...  A video presentation by Johan Rockstrom. It is a tough listen as the data continues to gather, with scientists trying to interpret the implications of a heating planet. Rockstrom brings the data alive as he traverses  epochs of time , looking at averages, explaining the changes the gathering recent data shows. Rockstrom says it as it is and finishes with a call to action, that positive changes by governments working together can still have an impact. 

What has this to do with jewellery making? My garden has a big influence on how I design jewellery. It is hard to be a gardener and not be aware of how global eco-systems are under threat. A big takeaway from this is how the Brazilian  Amazon has for the first time become a net emitter of carbon. The most diverse and rich eco-system on the planet is being changed.
